Gridshock Documentary & Teen Dating Violence Awareness
The Gridshock viewing on February 16th has been postponed to March 3rd at 10:00am for juniors and seniors.
Dear Students and Families,
As we consider learning experiences supportive of our students as they navigate life within their school years as well as beyond, we have decided to provide learning around sex trafficking. Sex trafficking is something that doesn't just happen in big cities, in other states, or outside of SW Iowa. We have partnered with Catholic Charities to bring this experience to our students, families, community and surrounding area. Our juniors and seniors will be engaged in this event on February 16th from 10:00-12:00. All other students are welcome to attend the evening event with their parents, if so desired. This will take place in the high school auditorium on the same day (February 16th), from 6:00-8:00. As we need to adhere to COVID-19 expectations, please email us if you would prefer to view Gridshock via Zoom. We will send you the appropriate link.
Likewise, we are connecting this learning to Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. We will have a speaker sharing her expertise in this area and will also offer an opportunity for any of our artists, creators, and visionaries to enter a related art contest called "What is Love?"
Attached. you will find more information on the event, as well as the excuse form for those desiring their child NOT participate. Additionally, you will find the art advocacy content information.
