CHS Students Selected to Perform in Southwest Iowa Bandmasters Association High School Honor Band
On Saturday, December 10, thirty Clarinda High School Band students travelled to Atlantic High School to audition for the 49th Annual Southwest Iowa Bandmasters Association high school honor band. Of those thirty students, twenty-two were accepted into one of two bands, a 9th and 10th grade band or the 11th and 12th grade band. In order to be selected, students had to prepare and perform scales and two contrasting etudes for a panel of judges.
The selected students will participate in the honor band on Monday, January 16. Each group rehearses for the full day and then performs a concert in the evening. The concert takes place in the Atlantic High School Auditorium and begins at 7:00 PM. The cost of admission is $3 for students and $5 for adults.
