BOYS BASKETBALL
The 2015-16 basketball season is officially underway! The Cardinal Boys squad has a total of 33 players this year in the 9-12 grade. The squad includes seven seniors, six juniors, seven sophomores, and thirteen freshman.
The Varsity squad returns two starters in Jacob Carlson and Jacob Degase. The five other seniors are Josh Espinosa, Alex Stull, Mark Engstrand, Andrew Foster, and Jacob Brooks. The Juniors on this year’s Varsity squad include returners Donevan Kelley, Deitrich Engstrand, and Connor Pirtle. Two Juniors that are new to the Varsity this year are Josh Degase and Cody Hayes.
The JV members on this year’s squad include Junior Tyler Lucado, and the Sophomores include: Austin Goudie, Isaiah Byerly, Brady Strait, Adrien Salway, Raymond Nellis, Wyatt Fitzpatrick, and Noah McKinnon.
The 9th Grade squad members are: Owen Smith, Alex Best, Brady Williams, Max Herrington, Sy Young, Matthew Milliken, William Shull, J.D. Hitt, Drake Polsley, Hunter Yearington, Jordan Foster, Gabe Allumbaugh and Trace Matheny.
The Managers for this year’s squad are Daniel Frey and Trevor Richardson. Our coaching staff is Head Coach Van Gilmore, Assistant Coach Casey Hill, Freshman Coach Jordan Moses, and Volunteer Assistant Dane Byerly. The squad is working hard and looking forward to competing in the Hawkeye 10 again this year.
