Brokaw FFA Members Compete at NWMSU Ag Contests
Thirty-three Brokaw FFA members of Clarinda competed in the Northwest Missouri State University Agriculture Contests held at the NWMSU campus on October 1. The chapter saw nineteen members compete in the Livestock Judging competition, four members compete in the Horse Judging competition, eight members compete in the Agronomy competition, and two members compete in the FFA Knowledge competition.
In the Horse Judging competition. the Clarinda team placed 7th. The team consisted of Emma Pullen, Annie Wallin, Skie Campbell, and Cori Bebout. Campbell placed 18th and Bebout placed 26th overall out of 126 total individuals.
In the Livestock Judging competition, the Clarinda team placed 5th out of 34 total teams. Members making up the 5th place team were Chandler Strough, Baillee Warren, and Paetyn Rock. Strough placed 8th overall, Warren placed 28th overall, and Rock placed 35th out of a total of 323 participants. Other Brokaw team members in the Livestock Judging competition included: Luke Strong, Chance Turner, Clint Fine, Logan Brooke, Allison Fast, Nick Nelson, Cain Johanns, JJ Clark, Cheyenne French, Jacob Carlson, Madi Gray, Noah Carlson, Stone McCoy, Jacob Dow, Zachary Carlson, and Elijah Bix.
In the Agronomy competition, the Brokaw team placed 8th. Members competing in this contest were: Kallon Behrhorst, Max Ripley, Skylee Landess, Jordan Sunderman, Sheyann Sunderman, Jacob Cabbage, Colton Beery, and Will Mellencamp.
In the FFA Knowledge competition, Tyler Luckado and Bailey Mellencamp were participants. Mellencamp placed 12th out of 34 competitors in the Advanced Knowledge Exam.
