Covid-19 Update 10/01/20
Today, I spent time connecting with educators, public health officials, health-care providers, legislators, board members and others in relation to COVID-19 and next steps for a safe and healthy learning environment. Decisions of this magnitude are complex, with multiple viewpoints, ideas, and beliefs to consider.
H.L. Mencken once stated, "For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong." Translated -- No decision will ever please everyone. When faced with complexity, his words remind me to focus on simplicity. Simply put, our responsibility is to create a safe, healthy learning environment for students and staff.
At the end of the day, it's that simple. Thus, here are a few decisions made today:
Decision: The CCSD will continue facial covering, quarantine, and other health and safety practices in accordance with our current expectations and in line with CDC regulations and Page County Public Health recommendations.
Decision: Students attending the Clarinda Lutheran School will not be joining us for athletics, activities, or transportation purposes for the next two weeks and until CLS facial covering and all other expectations/aligned practices match CCSD expectations.
Decision: South Page administration is shifting on-campus (at South Page) health and safety practices to align with CCSD expectations.
Decision: I will continue to be grateful for health, life, love, and my Cardinal Family. Will you join me?
Enjoy your evening!
