STEAM
The beginning of this year has been full of hands-on projects in STEAM. Preschool has been working on basic art skills such as using crayons, markers, and colored pencils, and using glue. Kindergarten began learning about space. They practiced drawing planets, stars, and rockets. They are finishing their final artwork for the 10th Annual International Student Art Contest sponsored by the Space Foundation. First grade learned how to draw Cardinals and are working on coding through Code.org courses. All grades, K-4, will complete a course from Code.org this year. Second grade learned about simple machines. They were using cars and ramps to test how it would crash depending on ramp height and car weight. Third grade just finished working on straw rockets. They had many tests to decide how to make the best rocket. Fourth grade has been working on an agriculture program called Journey 2050. This is a free app that can be used on many devices.
