SWI District Student Council Leadership Conference
On January 25, 2019, the CHS Student Council, along with IASC State Officer, Kate Landhuis, hosted the districts' second annual SWI District Student Council Leadership Conference. Eight schools and 91 students from southwest Iowa participated in the conference.
The conference focused on the theme “Eat. Feed. Lead.” In the four breakout sessions, students learned how to lead with out of the box thinking, relearned about a leaders responsibility, and thought about how their own personal skills fit in.
State Officers, Kate Landhuis (Clarinda) and Rachel Anderson (Harlan) took charge of the planning and organizing of this project. From there, the rest of the student council members at Clarinda and Harlan divided into groups to present breakout sessions. The Leadership Conference was a huge success and the student council plans to continue for years to come!
