Google Expedition at Garfield
Preschool through fourth grade students have been taking field trips in STEAM the last couple weeks. They’ve gone to the ocean and climbed mountains. They have even traveled across the globe to countries around the world! This was all possible by using Google Expedition Goggles. These goggles give virtual reality tours of many places on Earth. Mrs. Thompson lined up tours according to what the students were studying in their regular classrooms. Ann Meyer was even able to join in on some of the tours! Students learned facts about animals, temples, habitats, and national parks to name a few. The great thing about this is that the app is free and you do not have to have goggles to go on tours. The app is called Expeditions. If you search Google Expedition, it will show up as an orange flag inside of a orange navigation circle. This can be downloaded on most devices that can download applications. Feel free to have a family night touring museums, colleges, and many more places!
