Kindergarten Space Poster
Garfield Elementary junior kindergarten and kindergarten classes have been learning about space in STEAM this past month. They learned about the solar system, astronauts, craters, and rockets. In STEAM, they learned how to draw planets, stars, rockets, and the moon. The students also practiced basic coloring skills to stay inside the lines as well as coloring the whole picture. Students also learned about voting. Each classroom voted on their top three pictures from the whole class. The top picture is of the top three students from each classroom that were voted on having the best space poster by their classmates. The second picture is the top three students over-all by the Garfield Staff and kindergarten students as having the most creative art poster. Students in this picture are Jaelyn Pullen, Colton Wagoner, and Hannah Williams. These students’ art posters have been sent into the 9th Annual Space Foundation International Student Art Contest. They will compete with 5 to 6 year old students from around the world. Winners will be announced late January.
