Eberly on to State for Cross Country
Hard Work Transforms to a Dream Realized
After running literally hundreds of miles the past three seasons of Cross Country, freshman, Ashlyn Eberly has punched her ticket to the 2018 2A State Championship Meet. Ashlyn is no stranger to running in highly competitive races against truly legitimate competitors. Last year, as an 8th grader, she sprinted to a 7th place finish in the 2017 Washburn Classic, the State Junior High Cross Country Meet. Her strong finish helped lead her team to a 2nd place finish. This year’s race highlights include: a 7th place finish at the Shenandoah Early Bird Meet and 11th place finishes at both the Southwest Valley and Rock Port Invitationals. Ashlyn’s 15th place finish at the 2A State Qualifying Meet at Panorama West Golf Course qualified her for her first trip to the Iowa State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge on October 27th.
