Red Ribbon Week Celebrated At The Middle School

Red Ribbon Week was celebrated at CMS October 23rd -27th. Red Ribbon Week is a time that community groups, governments, and businesses commit to creating a healthy, drug free future for America.

CMS students pledged during this national celebration to the intolerance of the illegal use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. CMS students celebrated to live healthy lifestyles by dressing up last week. Our dress up days were:
Monday- Team up against drugs  (Team/jersey wear)

Tuesday-  Give drugs the boot (Western wear)

Wednesday- Don’t get mixed up in drugs (Mix and match)

Thursday- Lei off drugs (Hawaiian day)

Friday- Red Day (Wear Red)

Students celebrated by signing the pledge wall, entering "Our Future is Key" coloring contest, poem poster and video contest. Student Council sponsored a Red Ribbon Relay, in which students had to put on glasses and gloves and run to the end of the gym and open up a piece of chocolate, Homerooms were rewarded points for completing the relay.

The students found that the glasses and gloves made it hard to open up the Hershey's kisses, the glasses and gloves represented unhealthy choices such as drugs, alcohol and how hard it would make our lives.‚Äč
