STEAM
STEAM is off to a great start this year! There are a lot of exciting things happening in the STEAM classroom. We started this year with robotics as an introduction to computer programming. The students used BeeBots and Sphero robots to begin learning the basics of programming. The students will be moving to Code.org courses to continue learning about computer programming. They have also been focusing on warm color tones and cool color tones while we learn about fire safety and create fire pictures. Kindergarten is working on the International Space Picture Contest. They have learned about planets, moons, the sun, and many more aspects of space. Kindergartners have learned how to draw these items as well. They are currently adding their final touches to the pictures and will learn about the voting process. They will get to vote on their top three pictures in kindergarten to be sent to this contest. The first and second grade students are also learning about finger placement while typing. Third grade are learning tricks and tips with their Google accounts. Finally, fourth grade is focusing on agriculture including soil, seeds, and plants.
