Brokaw FFA Members Compete at NWMSU Ag Contests
Twenty-five Brokaw FFA members of Clarinda competed in the Northwest Missouri State University Agriculture Judging Contests held at the NWMSU campus on October 5th. The chapter saw six members compete in the Livestock Judging competition, six members compete in the Horse Judging competition, five members compete in the Agronomy contest, and eight members compete in the FFA Knowledge competition.
In the Horse Judging competition. the Clarinda team placed 4th out of 17 teams. Austin Wagaman, Shayla Harris, and Tanley Bebout made up the 4th place team. Wagaman placed 8th, Harris placed 17th, and Bebout placed 19th overall out of 60 total individuals. Other members competing in Horse Judging were Cooper Williams, Blaine Coston, and Madelyn Pulliam.
In the Livestock Judging competition, the Clarinda team placed 4th out of 38 total teams. Members making up the 4th place team were Brett Robberts, Kylie Shackelford, and Bradlie Wilmes. Robberts placed 7th overall, Shackelford placed 31st, and Wilmes placed 34th out of a total of 164 participants. Other Brokaw team members in the Livestock Judging competition included Brodee Means, Brady Williams, and Jordan VanGundy.
In the FFA Knowledge competition, the team of Hunter Crawford, Austin Gutknecht, and Bryn Morgenstern was named champion team. Crawford placed 1stoverall, Gutknecht placed 3rd, and Morgenstern tied for 6th place out of 38 individuals. Others competing in the FFA Knowledge exam were Taylor Wedemeyer, Paige Sunderman, Sadie Graham, Abbie Guthrie, and Joslynn Williams.
In the Agronomy contest, the Brokaw team placed 9th out of 15 teams. Members competing in the Agronomy contest were Dalton Brown, Ethan Jones, Parker Rock, Ethan Herzberg, and Lane Mellencamp.
