Leadership Conference
This year the CHS Student Council hosted its second annual Middle School Leadership Conference for Clarinda Middle School students grades 5-8. Building on the theme from last year, the 2017 conference focused on “Leading to Learn.” In four breakout sessions, students learned how to lead the pack, establish connections, use peer pressure in a positive way, and about the importance of role models. Three student council members, sophomore Brett Samuelson, freshmen Kate Landhuis and Bradlie Wilmes, took charge of the planning and organizing of this project. From there, the rest of the student council members divided into four groups for the breakout sessions, with lead teachers Addy Shane, Nik Landhuis, Skie Campbell, and Jared Kirsch. The Leadership Conference was a huge success and the student council plans to continue for years to come!
