Bloodmobile
The 3rd Trimester Clarinda High School Government students and Clarinda High School sponsored a Red Cross Blood Drive (Bloodmobile) in the Clarinda High School gymnasium, March 18, 2015. The American Red Cross depends on blood drives such as these to increase blood supplies throughout the United States and especially in our local area. The students, teachers, and members of the Clarinda community showed great support for this blood drive. On Wednesday, 126 donors walked through the gymnasium doors. From those 126 donors, 117 units of blood were collected. 351 lives were saved because of the students and the graciousness displayed by the community of Clarinda and other donors from the surrounding areas. The need for blood donations is greater this year because of the canceled blood drives due to inclement weather in the Midwest and Northeast. Remember, 1 pint of blood can save 3 lives. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. More blood drives will be held in the upcoming months in Clarinda, so be active and stay informed. Each one of us together can make a difference in the life of someone else. A special thanks to the CHS lunch staff, Subway, and senior government students for donating snacks to the blood drive canteen.
