Brokaw FFA Members Compete at NWMSU Ag Contests
Thirty-five Brokaw FFA members of Clarinda competed in the Northwest Missouri State University Agriculture Contests held at the NWMSU campus on October 2. The chapter saw fifteen members compete in the Livestock Judging competition, six members compete in the Horse Judging competition, five members compete in the Agronomy competition, five members compete in the Farm Business Management contest, one member compete in the Floriculture contest, and three members compete in the FFA Knowledge competition.
In the Horse Judging competition. the Clarinda team placed 8th out of 24 teams. Emma Pullen, Annie Wallin, and Skie Campbell made up the 8th place team. Pullen placed 18th and Wallin placed 23rd overall out of 88 total individuals. Other Brokaw FFA members judging horses were Joslynn Williams, Jesse Stickler, and Austin Wagaman.
In the Livestock Judging competition, the Clarinda team placed 5th out of 57 total teams. Members making up the 5th place team were Austin Gutknecht, Baillee Warren, and Sadie Graham. Gutknecht placed 14th overall and Warren placed 24th overall out of a total of 192 participants. Other Brokaw team members in the Livestock Judging competition included: Cheyenne French, Jacob Carlson, Madalynne Gray, Jacob Dow, Paige Sunderman, Clayton Pattavina, Brodee Means, Donevan Kelley, Abbie Guthrie, Chandler Strough, Austin Scanlan, and Lane Harvey.
In the Agronomy competition, the Brokaw team placed 8th. Members competing in this contest were: Paetyn Rock, Jordan Sunderman, Allison Fast, Chance Turner, and Clint Fine.
In the FFA Knowledge competition, the team of Tyler Luckado, Cori Bebout, and Will Mellencamp placed 2nd. Bebout placed 9th, Mellencamp placed 16th, and Luckado placed 19th.
In the Farm Business Management contest, the Brokaw team placed 8th. Logan Brooke finished in 25th place. Other FFA members competing were: Skylee Landess, Max Ripley, Elijah Bix, and Kollyn Buch.
Finally, Brianna Haffner competed in the Floriculture competition for the Brokaw FFA Chapter.
