Brokaw FFA Receives Award
The Brokaw FFA Chapter of Clarinda recently attended an awards luncheon hosted by the Iowa Urban Tree Council in Johnston, Iowa, on April 3. The chapter was recognized with a plaque for the Outstanding Youth Project Award for their efforts in improving the Clarinda community through the planting of trees. The Brokaw Chapter has helped the local Trees Forever committee with the planting of trees near the newly constructed hospital, on the Clarinda Cemetery grounds, as well as around the city park. In addition to these tree plantings, the chapter helped with an Arbor Day presentation given to elementary students during the 2012-2013 school year.
Brokaw FFA members Paige Fast and Karyee Buch accept the award for Outstanding Youth Project. The FFA members are pictured with members of the Iowa Urban Tree Council along with FFA advisor Andy Johnson.
